Austin Odongo's rise began at a youth tournament organised by the Ministry of Sports. Captaining Homabay County to the title, he attracted the attention of several Kenyan Premier League clubs. He ultimately chose Shabana FC, a historic and popular team, for his debut season.

He quickly made an impact, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in the second half of the season alone.

"My first season in the Premier League was a fantastic learning experience at Shabana," he reflected.
