In what will be seen as a big transfer boost for manager Erik ten Hag, the club’s board has reportedly approved the signing of the England captain, according to the Daily Sun.

The Red Devils are expected to battle with Barcelona, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich over the signature of the Spurs’ captain.

United will not wait until the season ends before opening negotiations with the 29-year-old.

The Carabao Cup winners are ready to secure an £80 million deal for Kane, who is set to leave the London club in search of trophies.

The England international is understood to be Ten Hag’s key target, as he hopes to make a big signing in order to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kane – who is at the peak of his career and would want to win trophies - will turn 30 in July, and Ten Hag believes he will be a key asset as United hope to chase more titles next season.

The forward has one year remaining on his current contract, and at the end of the campaign, he could be persuaded to leave Tottenham, where he has failed to win trophies.
