The 20-year-old centre-back, who is currently on loan at Belgian Pro League club FCV Dender from Brentford, has recently gained attention for his standout performances with the Super Eagles.

Fredrick started in Nigeria's last four matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Reports suggest that Leipzig is preparing a €1.5 million offer for the former Flying Eagles star. The proposed deal is also said to include a 15 percent sell-on clause.

Fredrick first joined Brentford on loan in 2023 before the move was made permanent last year.

Having made 11 league appearances for Dender this season, it remains uncertain whether Brentford will be open to selling the promising defender, especially following his impressive recent displays on the international stage.

Fredrick's move would see another Nigerian talent land in the highly competitive Bundesliga, where he could regularly face or even play alongside players like Boniface, who is currently with Werder Bremen on loan from Leverkusen and remains a key figure in German football despite being linked with moves away from his parent club earlier in the summer.
