Harambee Stars forward Ben Stanley Omondi has broken his silence about his future at Gor Mahia following an impressive run at the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) that has sadly come to an end.
Ben Stanley Omondi was one of the standouts, starting his campaign on a low note but picking up the momentum and eventually becoming one of Benni McCarthy’s players in the tournament.
However, a loss to Madagascar in the CHAN 2024 quarterfinal saw Harambee Stars get eliminated from the tournament, and they will now have to shift focus to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ben Stanley Omondi Remains Vague on His Future at K’Ogalo
When asked about his future with Gor Mahia, Ben Stanley Omondi remained coy, hinting he could either stay or move to another club.
“I don’t know…we shall just see how things go,” Ben Stanley Omondi told BoxtoBox Regista.
Ben Stanley Omondi Opens Up About Benni McCarthy’s Trust in Him
The Gor Mahia youngster further explained that earning trust from Benni McCarthy is a great feeling, especially after he made some mistakes against Angola.
He revealed that after the blunder, he decided to pull up his socks, thanks to coach Benni McCarthy and his teammates.
“It’s a great feeling because the coach trusts me since the first time he came here till today. I feel comfortable around him, and that gives me the freedom and motivation to do well,” Ben Stanley Omondi added.
He disclosed that hosting the tournament and playing past the group stages has been an eye-opening experience, as he promised that in the upcoming challenges, Harambee Stars will do much better.
Ben Stanley Omondi revealed that the country united to support Harambee Stars, and it is the fans who propelled them and gave them the fighting spirit.
“We have never experienced something like this, and I’m sure next time we shall be better, and our fans have also come out,” Ben Stanley Omondi said.
“The country has come together to support Harambee Stars, and that’s a great thing. The grounds have also been revamped, and that will elevate our local league.”
Harambee Stars kicked off their CHAN 2024 campaign with a 1-0 win over DR Congo before battling Angola to a 1-1 draw.
They then defied all odds to claim the win over two-time champions Morocco before sealing their group stage campaign with a 1-0 victory over Zambia.
