Beatrice Chebet Reveals Lessons Learnt From Best Friend Faith Kipyegon That Will Push Her to Greatness
Beatrice Chebet feels complete after winning two gold medals at the 2025 World Athletics Championships and after such a feat, she is looking to emulate her friend Faith Kipyegon.
Chebet was among the most successful athletes in Tokyo as she won gold in both 10,000m and 5,000m, adding the only medal that was missing from her collection.
The 25-year-old went to Tokyo having won Cross-Country and Olympics gold medals but did not have a world title and she lived up to the billing by delivering the two medals following two very dominant performances in the Japanese capital.

After completing the set, Chebet now has the hunger for more and she is delighted that she is close with one of her role models Faith Kipyegon who has been so dominant and consistent over the 1,500m race that she now has four world titles and three Olympics gold medals over the distance as well as the world record.
“Having both the 5,000m and 10,000m world records as well as Olympic titles is good. But, without having the world title, you are not complete in your profile and career,” Chebet told Telecomasia.net. “For me, having now won both world titles, I feel complete and I am so delighted.”
What Has Chebet Picked from Faith Kipyegon?
The two-time Olympics champion says her aim now is to dominate her disciplines like Kipyegon has been and she is in awe of her friend’s remarkable levels of consistency.
“Now my target from here is to become a multiple world and Olympic champion like Faith,” she added.
“She inspires me a lot and what I have learnt from her is that consistency is key. You need to keep working, remain hungry even if you have achieved something already. Always work for the next one.”
Chebet has reaped the rewards of her consistency in the last one year, having stayed unbeaten in the 5,000m since winning Olympics gold, and even broke the world record two months before heading to Tokyo.
She will look to maintain that form ahead of her title defence in Beijing in 2027 before the 2028 Olympics Games in Los Angles, USA.
