Bayern Munich players stood out from the rest as they showed no mercy in their 5-2 win over Augsburg at Allianz Arena.

But it was not just Bayern Munich players alone as Augsburg also had a player who came to the party, even though it was not enough to help his side avoid defeat.

Meanwhile, in other games, Bayer Leverkusen’s good run of form continued as they beat Werder Bremen in a game that saw many players come to the party.

VFL Bochum had set the ball rolling on Friday night, with their players showing up at Cologne for a 2-0 win.

Without waiting any longer, here is Pulse Sports’ Bundesliga team of the week.

Goalkeeper: Manuel Riemann [VFL Bochum] vs FC Cologne

VFL Bochum kicked off gameweek 24 with a 2-0 victory over Cologne RheinEnergieSTADION. Goals from Yannick Gerhardt and Maximilian Arnold gave them the three points, but the victory would not have happened if not for the performance of their goalkeeper Manuel Riemann.

Riemann ensured Bochum left Cologne with a clean sheet after making save after save. The German goalkeeper made five saves in the match, including three from inside the box to keep out Cologne.

Centre-Back: Josko Gvardiol [RB Leipzig] vs Borussia Monchengladbach

Josko Gvardiol’s reputation keeps growing game after game following another fantastic display for RB Leipzig in their 3-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 21-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City, showed once again why he is the next great centre-back.

Gvardiol was immense at the back for Leipzig, with a 94% pass accuracy and nine successful long balls. He won five ground duels and made two successful tackles before capping off a fine performance with a goal.

Centre-Back: Benjamin Pavard [Bayern Munich] vs Augsburg

Although he is a right-back, Benjamin Pavard has been killing it as a centre-back in a back three for Bayern Munich this season.

The World Cup winner with France had arguably his best performance of the season for Bayern against Augsburg.

He did almost everything right and did not put a foot wrong. Pavard made three clearances and interceptions and blocked the same number of shots.

However, it was his performance at the other end of the pitch that made headlines. Pavard scored two of five Bayern’s five goals in the victory and also made one key pass to complete a brilliant individual display.

Right-Back: Joao Cancelo [Bayern Munich] vs Augsburg

Joao Cancelo’s loan stint at Bayern Munich has not gone the way he wanted it, but he did make a statement against Augsburg on Saturday.

Cancelo scored a fantastic equaliser after Mergim Berisha had put Augsburg ahead. The Portugal international then set up Alphonso Davies for the fifth.

He was solid defensively too, winning nine duels and making five tackles. A brilliant way to respond to being dropped.

Left-back: Raphael Guerreiro [Borussia Dortmund] vs Schalke 04

Borussia Dortmund dropped points in the title race but Raphael Guerriero can be proud of his performance on Saturday evening.

Guerreiro was brilliant both defensively and in the attack. The Portugal international won five duels, made two clearances and won two tackles.

His attacking numbers were more impressive, though. Guerreiro scored one goal and created another. He also had three shots on target and made three key passes. Not bad for an attacking full-back.

Defensive midfielder: Sebastian Rode [Eintracht Frankfurt] vs VFB Stuttgart

Sebastian Rode was one of the few players who impressed in Frankfurt’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Stuttgart.

The Germany international was decent in the middle of the park for Frankfurt. Rode won four ground duels and also made one key pass.

He scored the opener for Frankfurt, but unfortunately, it was not enough to give them the win. A good performance from the 32-year-old, nonetheless.

Right Midfielder: Jeremie Frimpong [Bayer Leverkusen] vs Werder Bremen

There were a lot of great performances from full-backs in gameweek 24, and Jeremie Frimpong’’s display for Bayer Leverkusen in their 3-2 win over Leverkusen.

Jeremie Frimpong scored and assisted for the second consecutive game for Bayer Leverkusen

The Dutch-eligible Ghanaian star makes our team for the second consecutive week after putting in another fine display against Werder Bremen.

Having scored in the 4-1 win over Hertha Berlin last week, Frimpong found the back of the net again in the 3-2 win over Werder Bremen.

The 22-year-old scored Leverkusen’s second goal, having set up Mitchel Bakker for the first. It was indeed another superb performance from Frimpong.

Left Midfielder: Alphonso Davies [Bayern Munich] vs Augsburg

Alphonso Davies, another full-back, takes the left midfield spot after showing his quality for Bayern Munich against Augsburg.

While he may not have had the same level of performance as Pavard or Cancelo, Davies still had a good game.

He scored Bayern’s fifth goal and was solid defensively too, winning five duels.

Attacking midfielder: Leroy Sane [Bayern Munich] vs Augsburg

Bayern Munich were the biggest winner last weekend, so it is no surprise to see their players dominate the team.

Leroy Sane was another one who stood out. The former Manchester City star was at his creative best on Saturday, scoring one and creating another one.

He also played in four key passes and completed eight dribbles to cap off a brilliant individual display.

Striker: Mergim Berisha [Augsburg] vs Bayern Munich

Augsburg were on the losing side on Saturday but their striker Mergim Berisha made a name for himself.

Berisha opened the scoring as early as the second minute before scoring the second from the penalty spot. He was the shining spot on a disappointing day for Augsburg.

Striker: Niclas Fullkrug [Werder Bremen] vs Bayer Leverkusen

Like Berisha, Fullkrug was also on the losing side after a good individual display. Germany’s World Cup star delivered a full attacking display for Werder Bremen against Bayer Leverkusen, even though it was not enough to give his side the win.

Niclas Fullkrug was full of action against Bayer Leverkusen

Fullkrug set up the opener before reducing the deficit late in the game from the penalty spot. Not only that, but he was also a handful for Leverkusen’s defenders, hitting the woodwork once and making one key pass.

A brilliant game from the Germany international.
