Barcelona bosses set to take drastic step to register Marcus Rashford
Members of the Barcelona board are set to put their personal finances at risk in a bid to ensure they register their new signings before the start of the new LALIGA season.
The details
With the new LALIGA season only days away, Barcelona face a race against time to register first-team signings Marcus Rashford and Joan Garcia.
According to The Athletic’s Pol Ballus, the Barcelona hierarchy are preparing to employ a measure they have used before, putting up their finances to make up the difference.
The Blaugrana have been barred from registering new signings for LALIGA as they have gone over their salary limit. By tendering their personal funds as part of a bank guarantee of up to €7 million, they can make up the required funds.
LALIGA permit using Ter Stegen's space
Should the Barcelona board proceed with using their personal funds, they might only need it to register Rashford, as LALIGA's medical commission has agreed that Ter Stegen's injury can be classified as long-term, hence they will be permitted to register another player with his salary space.
