Awoniyi's Forest edge closer to Champions League wih crucial win over toothless Man Utd

Nottingham Forest's fairytale season continued with a crucial 1-0 win against Ruben Amorim's Manchester United.

Forest were in joyous mood after their FA Cup quarter final win at the weekend, and the mood around the ground was heightened further after former Man United man Elanga broke the deadlock after just 5 minutes.

The visitors' response was admirable, but chances were scarce in a sluggish first half.

United continued their dominance in the second half but Forest's defence held firm to prevent the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Zirkzee from making any progress.

Harry Maguire's utilisation as a centre-forward caused issues late on, but Murillo's superb goal-line clearance at the death ensured the hosts held on for three points.
