The Gabonese star will lead his nation against Nigeria on November 13 at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, in what promises to be one of the most intense encounters of the African qualifying campaign.

What Gabon Coach said

Gabon’s head coach Thierry Mouyouma has expressed strong confidence in his team’s ability to overcome the Super Eagles and advance to the final playoff round of the qualifiers.

“We are playing a semi-final against Nigeria, and if we qualify, we have a final to play. We have not lost our minds; we know what we are doing,” Mouyouma said during a press conference.

Mouyouma also defended his decision to include suspended defender Mick Onfia in his 26-man squad, describing it as a strategic and forward-thinking choice meant to ensure continuity should Gabon advance.

Gabon’s dream of qualifying for their first-ever FIFA World Cup remains alive. With veterans like Aubameyang and Bruno Ecuele Manga, the former captain who led the team at AFCON 2012, the Panthers boast experience and leadership within their ranks.

With both nations targeting a ticket to the final African playoff round, the November 13 showdown in Rabat is shaping up as a high-stakes clash.
