Atalanta name Ademola Lookman in UCL squad after failed summer move
Atalanta have named Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman in their squad for the Champions League season, signalling a desire to reintegrate the Nigerian after his failed move away from the club this summer.
Atalanta add Lookman to UCL squad
While the Nigerian is still currently training away from the group and has yet to appear in any of Atalanta's games this season, he has been named in their Champions League Squad A.
According to FootballItalia, here is their full squad list, which includes Lookman:
Goalkeepers: Marco Carnesecchi, Francesco Rossi, Marco Sportiello
Defenders: Honest Ahanor, Raoul Bellanova, Berat Djimsiti, Isak Hien, Sead Kolašinac, Odilon Kossounou, Giorgio Scalvini, Davide Zappacosta
Midfielders: Lorenzo Bernasconi, Marco Brescianini, Marten de Roon, Éderson, Yunus Musah, Mario Pašalić, Lazar Samardzic, Nicola Zalewski
Attackers: Charles De Ketelaere, Nikola Krstović, Ademola Lookman, Daniel Maldini, Gianluca Scamacca, Kamaldeen Sulemana
Lookman’s failed move
The 27-year-old tried to push for an exit from La Dea throughout the summer, with Inter as his desired destination. However, the Nerazzurri pulled out of contention after Atalanta rejected two bids worth €40 and €45 million, respectively.
Bayern Munich made a late move to sign him, offering a loan deal with an option to buy, but Atlanta rejected it, as they were only interested in offers for a permanent transfer.
