Super Falcons of Nigeria star Ashleigh Plumptre is back on the pitch after a long layoff.
The 25-year-old has not been on the social media trends being out of action for a while.
Ashleigh Plumptre has surgery
Earlier this year, Plumptre, she had surgery on her right foot after a massive injury.
Her club Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia confirmed the injury and when she went on for the surgery.
A statement by the club said, "Ashleigh Plumptre a player from the Ittihad Women's Football Team, has successfully undergone right foot surgery.
"She will now begin a therapeutic and rehabilitation program to prepare her return to training sessions."
Plumptre also took to social media to show off a successful surgery to her followers.
Along with a photo was a statement that said, "Thank you to everyone at @ittihadladiesclub and to Dr Pieter D’Hooge at @aspetar for supporting me through my first surgery.
"It’s been a long time coming trying to get answers but I’m so grateful to now be at this stage.
"To my @nigeriasuperfalcons teammates and nigerian fans… thank you for your patience and understanding when I’ve not been able to be with you.
"I can honestly say I have fought as hard and for as long as I can with this pain. I can’t wait to be back healthy alongside you all again 🇳🇬🫡
"My club - @ittihadladiesclub. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by some really great humans at this club.
"Thank you, all of you, for helping me through and supporting me every step of the way, Back soon."
Since the injury, Plumptre was not part of the Super Falcons team at the women's football event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
She has reported back to training with photos posted on the Al-Ittihad social media platforms.
