Arsenal’s title hopes have been put in a blender after their loss to Brighton saw them revert to their old selves with another poor result against the Seagulls at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal humiliated at home by Brighton
Arsenal lost 3-0 to Brighton on Sunday, essentially ending their hunt for the 2022/23 Premier League title, which would have been the team’s first since the 2003/04 season.
Goals from Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav, and Pervis Estupinian helped Brighton return to form with a confident win to erase the 5-1 loss to Everton in the last game week.
The Brighton win continued an incredible run for the Seagulls over the Gunners as they claimed their third consecutive away win against Arsenal, and the fourth win in five games at the Emirates.
Brighton continue Emirates dominance with famous win
Despite Arsenal’s greatly improved form in the 2022/23 season, Brighton have maintained their dominance over the Gunners and have been responsible for three of Arsenal’s last four home defeats in all competitions.
3 - Three of Arsenal's last four home defeats in all competitions have come against Brighton, while the Seagulls are the fifth side to win away at the Gunners twice in the same season after N. Forest (87-88), Aston Villa (93-94), Man City (20-21) and Liverpool (21-22). Legit. pic.twitter.com/zHbxOnviGb

Brighton also became the fifth side to beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium twice in the same season.
Arsenal’s questionable home form has also seen them fall to a record-low milestone at the Emirates Stadium.
23 - Arsenal have conceded 23 goals at home in the Premier League this season; only in 2019-20 (24) have they conceded more in a single season since moving to the Emirates Stadium. Problematic. pic.twitter.com/6zc4nBcfl4

With 24 goals conceded at home this season, Arsenal have conceded more goals at the Emirates in a single Premier League season since the stadium was built in 2006.
The Gunners’ home form has not stopped them from contesting for the Premier League title, but it has been below the standards of fellow contenders Manchester City as well as Liverpool.
