According to a report from The Athletic’s David Ornstein, tests are still ongoing; however, initial assessments suggest that the former Lille man could be out for one to two months.

Gabriel’s injury

As Pulse Sports reported, Gabriel Magalhaes sustained an injury while representing Brazil in the ongoing international break. He left the pitch injured in the 64th minute of a friendly for Brazil against the Teranga Lions of Senegal.

Interestingly, he sustained the injury at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal's home ground, as that was the venue of the friendly.

He pulled up with discomfort in his right thigh/adductor region and was summarily replaced. He was replaced by Wesley Moraes and has been sent for medical scans.

Arsenal without Gabriel

Gabriel has been an integral part of the Arsenal defence, which has kept seven clean sheets in 11 Premier League games this season. He is also crucial to their attacking play as the most dangerous weapon in their set-piece arsenal.

However, with the investment that has been made in the summer, they should be able to cope in his absence, with the likes of Pierro Hincapie and Mosquera able to step up.
