Not Worth it: Angry fans call out wasteful Osimhen, Galatasaray after losing two-goal lead

Frustration erupted among fans of Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray following their dramatic 3-3 draw against Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Europa League, where the Turkish side squandered a two-goal lead.

Despite Osimhen contributing to the scoreline with a second-half penalty, supporters were left disappointed with the team's inability to secure all three points.

Galatasaray initially took control of the match with goals from Davinson Sanchez and Abdulkerim Bardakci, establishing a 2-0 lead in the first half. However, a late goal from Vladyslav Vanat just before halftime gave Dynamo Kyiv a glimmer of hope.

Osimhen extended Galatasaray's lead to 3-1 with a penalty in the 53rd minute, but the team faltered in the closing stages as Andriy Yarmolenko came off the bench to score twice to level the match.

Fans took to social media to express their anger and disappointment. One user lamented, “If there's a team that has no points and can't score goals, we welcome them. We are a very generous team.”

Another fan criticised Osimhen's performance, stating, “Osimhen was born offside,” reflecting their frustration with his missed opportunities. A third supporter bluntly remarked, “Never pay more than 25 million for Osimhen… he’s not worth it. Not a game-changer.”

Others pointed out broader issues within the team, with one fan commenting, “In as much as we love Gala, your team needs to improve on their defenders. You guys have good attackers but poor defenders... Improve or sign better players before the January transfer ends.”

Despite this disappointing result, Galatasaray remains unbeaten and in contention for the knockout stage in the Europa League, currently sitting fifth with 13 points after seven matches.
