Onana has faced the most shots in the Premier League this calendar year, averaging over 20 shots faced per game.
In 2024, the Red Devils shot-stopper has faced 225 shots in 10 Premier League games, and there seems to be no end in sight to the barrage of shots that opponents are allowed in every game.
The shots keep coming for Onana
It began with their opening Premier League win over Wolves, where the visitors recorded 23 shots at the home goal, though failed to score. This was the most that United have allowed opponents in a league game at Old Trafford since Chelsea’s 25 in November 2005.

In what is perhaps a damning indictment on Erik ten Hag's coaching, and United's midfield, Onana has made the second-most saves in the league (114) behind Luton Town's Thomas Kaminski.
United's 4-3 defeat to Chelsea in midweek saw the Blues rack up another 28 shot attempts, scoring with 4 of them.

Onana may not be the best goalkeeper in the league, but he is suffering from a lack of clear structure and organization.
As Liverpool arrive at Old Trafford, the question is how many more shots will the Cameroonian goalkeeper face? 20, 30? perhaps more.
Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, and the red-hot Alexis Mac Allister will all be looking to try their luck from range, and indeed anywhere.
