AFCON 2023: Sao Tome & Principe wins appeal, reinstated to face Nigeria in the qualifiers

Sao Tome & Principe will face Nigeria in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers after winning their appeal for disqualification.

Sao Tome and Principe was thrown out of the AFCON 2023 qualifiers mid last month after Mauritius Football Association reported them to CAF for fielding an ineligible player.

The Falcons and True Parrots of Sao Tome and Principe were subsequently disqualified by CAF Displinary Board following investigations. 

However, Sao Tome and Principe Football Association took the decision of the CAF Disciplinary Board to the Appeals Board and have successfully won their appeal.
