AFC Leopards Fail to Pounce on Posta Rangers in Entertaining Encounter as Kakamega Homeboyz Slay Sofapaka
AFC Leopards twice surrendered the lead as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Posta Rangers in a thrilling SportPesa Premier League clash at the Dandora Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Ingwe, chasing their first win under new chairman Boniface Ambani, made a bright start and nearly went ahead early on when Ronald Sichenje’s free kick flew just wide in the sixth minute.
Their pressure paid off midway through the first half when winger Kelly Madada produced a moment of magic in the 23rd minute, beating his marker on the right before rifling home at the far post to give Leopards the lead.

The advantage lasted only ten minutes. Posta Rangers hit back through Jackson Dwang, who pounced in the 33rd minute after a well-worked move from a corner, restoring parity for Sammy Omollo’s men.
Leopards came out sharper after the interval and struck again almost immediately. In the 49th minute, Ugandan forward Samuel Ssenyonjo scored his first goal for the club, finishing off a move started by Madada to make it 2-1.
The new signing’s strike seemed to put Ingwe on course for victory, but Rangers refused to back down.
As the heavens opened in Dandora, the slippery conditions unsettled both sides, though Leopards appeared more composed.
However, with just ten minutes left, Ingwe’s frailties at set pieces resurfaced. A scramble in the six-yard box following a corner ended with Eliud Lokwam stabbing home the equalizer for Posta, ensuring the spoils were shared.
The result means Leopards are still waiting for their first win of the campaign, while Rangers extend their unbeaten start to the season.
Kakamega Homeboyz Grab First Win
Elsewhere at the same venue earlier in the day, Kakamega Homeboyz edged Sofapaka 1-0. Josphat Lopaga struck in the third minute for Abana Beingo to hand them their first league win of the season.
The results now mean AFC Leopards are 11th on two points after two games, with Posta Rangers top of the league on seven points, while Kakamega Homeboyz are fifth on four points, with Sofapaka bottom of the table on one measly point from three games.
