LaLiga leaders FC Barcelona have confirmed that they will say goodbye to club captain Sergio Busquets at the end of this season.
Barcelona took to their social media page to post an emotional video to confirm the exit with the caption “A Barce legend says goodbye,” on Tuesday morning.
The announcement comes hours after Busquets already made the news public as reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria.
Busquets, 34, noted that it was an easy decision for him but that it was time to end his journey at the club.
“It has been an honour and a source of pride to have been able to wear this badge but everything must come to an end,” he added.

One two players have more appearances than Busquets
At the time of writing this, the 34-year-old had made a remarkable 719 appearances for Barcelona in his career.
With that number, only the duo of his former teammates, Lionel Messi and Xavi Hernandez, made more appearances for the club during their time.
He is Serial winner
Even at the age of 34, Busquets has remained an excellent and reliable soldier for the club.
His impressive performances have seen Barcelona on the brink of winning the LaLiga title which will be the 32nd major title of Busquets’ career.
Since he made his debut in 2008, he has raked in eight LaLiga title and could wrap up the ninth this weekend when Barcelona take on Espanyol.
He has also won three Champions League and six Copa del Rey titles.
His last games
With his exit now confirmed, Busquets will have an emotional day on May 28 when Real Mallorca visit Camp Nou.
That game will be his last at the Stadium where he has called home since he made his senior debut at the age of 19.
Also, his last game for Barcelona will be against Celta Vigo as he wears the club’s famous colours when they visit Vigo on June 4.
