AS Monaco have secured the services of one of Europe’s brightest teenage forwards, with 16-year-old Danish striker Ekene Chukwuani putting pen to paper on a professional deal with the French giants.
The young attacker arrives alongside Belgian prospects Matthias Wamu and Daryl Leunga as part of Monaco’s latest academy intake.
Chukwuani’s rise from Denmark to Monaco
Chukwuani, born January 7, 2009, has quickly built a reputation as one of Denmark’s most exciting young forwards. Standing at 1.87m, the left-footed centre forward has shown versatility, being equally effective when deployed on the right side of attack.
His natural athleticism, composure in front of goal, and ability to exploit spaces made him a standout performer at Bröndby IF, where he tore through opposition defenses.
During the 2023–24 season with Bröndby U17s, he scored an incredible 25 goals in just 23 appearances, numbers that inevitably drew attention from clubs across Europe. Before his rise at Bröndby, Chukwuani also represented B1973 Herlev and Akademisk Boldklub
