The M-Sport driver finished the stage in sixth position as per WRC standings.

M-Sport Ford World Rally Team driver Ott Tanak on Friday morning conquered the challenges encountered during the SS2 Loldia 1 stage at the WRC Safari Rally.

Tanak, who finished the 19.7km long route in sixth place, now finds himself trailing leader Sebastien Ogier by a mere 15.2 seconds.

Reflecting on his performance, Tanak revealed the unexpected hurdles he faced on the stage.

"There is no story," he said with a hint of amusement. "First, there was a pig on the road who didn't go away, then we had a group of zebras, so we had to stop for them a few times," he said.

The Safari Rally, known for its unique and challenging terrain, lived up to its reputation as Tanak encountered wildlife that added an extra twist to the competition.

Navigating through the unforgiving track while sharing the road with the local fauna proved to be an exhilarating test of Tanak's driving skills.

Undeterred by the presence of unexpected obstacles, Tanak displayed remarkable composure and adaptability.

With precision and quick thinking, he maneuvered his M-Sport Ford through the winding course, showcasing the agility and control that have made him a force to be reckoned with in the world of rallying.

As the stage unfolded, it became clear that the battle for the top positions would be fiercely contested.

With five stages remaining until the end of the day, Toyota emerged as the dominant force, occupying the top two spots.

The Loldia stage, with its mix of fast straights and technical sections, presented a demanding challenge for all participants.
