The Kenya Police FC star pointed out that Harambee Stars are aware of the tough test that awaits them, but he expressed confidence in the training the team has undergone, led by head coach Benni McCarthy.

He revealed that having experienced and young players in the squad is a plus for Harambee Stars. He added that the experienced players have done their part in motivating the youngsters and guiding them ahead of D-day.

Omar noted that he is aware of DR Congo and what they are capable of, having played against them three times in previous encounters.

“I think it’s going to be easy because, first of all, I think we are three or four experienced players. We always talk to these young players and motivate them. We also motivate ourselves because it’s not only about us but also for the country,” Aboud Omar said in a pre-match press conference.

“We all know that we need to perform, and there is no pressure. I think they will do good, and I hope they will not be scared of the crowd, and I want to urge the fans to come and make sure the trophy stays in Kenya.

“I think we have played with DR Congo I think three times. The first time was in Machakos, DRC and in Spain. They have good players and are very strong, and we take them very seriously.”

As Harambee Stars gear up for a tough show in CHAN 2024, they are focused on making history and ensuring the trophy remains on home soil.
