Yanga's star Goalkeeper Djigui Diarra rejects move abroad, stays loyal to the club amidst transfer ban troubles.

Tanzania Premier League giants Yanga Sports Club has put an end to all speculation by confirming that their exceptional goalkeeper, Djigui Diarra, will not be leaving the club.

The news comes as a relief to Yanga fans, who were concerned about the rumours linking the 28-year-old shot-stopper with a move to an undisclosed French club.

With Diarra's unwavering commitment to the team, Yanga is confident that they are in safe hands for the upcoming season.

In an announcement on their social media platforms, Yanga stated, "With Good Goalkeeper Djigui Diarra, Young Africans SC is in safe hands."

The reassurance demonstrates the club's determination to retain their key players amidst challenging circumstances, as Yanga is currently under a transfer ban imposed by FIFA due to outstanding settlements owed to former head coach Luc Eymael.

Djigui Diarra joined Yanga FC at the beginning of the 2021/2022 Tanzania Premier League season, replacing Farouk Shikalo, the Kenyan custodian.

The 2022/2023 season proved to be a remarkable one for Diarra, as he not only secured the golden glove award in the Tanzania Premier League but also led his team to their 29th league title.

His outstanding performances and leadership qualities have cemented his position as a vital asset for Yanga.

Before his arrival at Yanga, Djigui Diarra had already made a name for himself in his home country, Mali.

Hailing from domestic champions Stade Malien, Diarra showcased his talent and potential when he was nominated for the prestigious 2015 CAF Most Promising Talent of the Year awards.

During his time at Stade Malien, he made 120 league appearances and captained the side in 2017 and 2018.

Despite previous rumours linking Diarra with a move to the South African Premier Soccer League side Chippa United, his representative, Michel Sinha, dismissed any interest from the club.

Diarra's accomplishments extend beyond domestic football. He was an integral part of the Mali squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, narrowly losing to the eventual champions.

As Mali's first-choice goalkeeper for several years, Diarra has earned over 50 caps, representing his nation in prestigious tournaments such as the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and World Cup qualifiers.

With Djigui Diarra committing his future to Yanga FC, the club can now focus on building a formidable team capable of achieving greater success.

Diarra's exceptional shot-stopping abilities, leadership on the field, and extensive experience make him an indispensable asset for Yanga as they strive to maintain their dominance in Tanzanian football.

The confirmation of Diarra's stay at Yanga FC has provided a sense of relief and excitement among the club's supporters.

They eagerly await the upcoming season, anticipating more breathtaking saves and commanding performances from their trusted "Screen Protector."

With Djigui Diarra guarding the goalposts, Yanga FC is poised to continue their legacy as one of Tanzania's most successful football clubs.
