Ulinzi Stars head coach Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani has admitted to feeling sorry for Boniface Muchiri, who has been on the end of some unfortunate setbacks in recent times.
Muchiri has suffered injuries over the last couple of games, and against Kenya Police last Monday during their 0-0 draw, could not complete the match as he was subbed off during the break.
Speaking after the match, Modo admitted that his vice captain’s injury setbacks have been affecting his plans for matches.

“I am gutted for Boniface because he is one of our most influential players, he is doing very well,” Kimani said.
“Lately, he has had a few setbacks with regards to injuries. He was just coming back from a very very lengthy layoff because of an injury.
Providing details about the specific incidents, Kimani continued, “During our last match in Mumias when we were playing the cup competition, he picked a cut, so he was not able to finish that particular match, today as we all saw, he was also not able to complete this match.”
Despite the challenges, Kimani commended the team's medical staff for their efforts in preparing Muchiri to return stronger both physically and mentally. He expressed confidence in Muchiri's resilience as a player.
“Our doctors have been doing very well to prepare him to come back stronger physically and mentally and as a player, he is a very very resilient player,” Kimani affirmed.
“I am sure he is going to be able to shake it off, come back and be even stronger.”
