Rockstars FC have edged closer to FKF Division 2 League qualification with a 1-0 win over Nakalira FC bolstered by Tujiamini sponsorship.

Tujiamini Cheza Dimba winners Rockstars FC have taken a significant step towards securing their position in the FKF Division 2 League after clinching a narrow 1-0 victory over Nakalira FC.

The win, highlighted by an outstanding performance from Wekesa Barasa, not only solidified their standing in the Zone B of the FKF Western Region League but also amplified their aspirations for advancement.

In a tightly contested match, Barasa's decisive goal in the 29th minute was all that separated the two teams, ensuring that Rockstars FC would leave the field with their heads held high and three points richer.

This triumph has positioned them at 4th in the standings, with 24 points, four points clear of their closest rivals, Nakalira FC, who are now 5th with 20 points.

Rockstars FC's journey in the league thus far has been commendable, with the team winning seven matches, drawing three, and losing four out of the 14 they have played.

With eight more matches to go in the season, their sights are firmly set on climbing higher in the league standings.

Ronald Mugera, the Team Manager of Rockstars FC, spoke about the importance of the win.

"This match was more than just a game for us; it was about setting a precedent for the remainder of the season. The victory against Nakalira FC not only gives us a substantial advantage but also boosts our confidence as we push for qualification to the FKF Division 2 League," he said.

The recent financial support from the Tujiamini Initiative, powered by SportPesa, was highlighted as a game-changer for the team.

The initiative aims to support grass-roots sports development by identifying and nurturing local talent.

Rockstars FC, as the inaugural winners of the Cheza Dimba Awards, secured a three-year sponsorship deal worth 250,000 shillings annually, including kit support.

Mugera further elaborated on the impact of the sponsorship, stating, "Thanks to Tujiamini’s generous support, we can now focus on our goals with a clear vision. The resources available to us will significantly ease the management of the team and enhance our efforts to secure a spot in the FKF Division 2 League."

Emmanuel Wanjala, the captain of Rockstars FC, echoed the sentiments of his team manager, emphasizing the motivational boost the sponsorship has provided.

"The timing of this support couldn't have been better. We've faced challenges attending matches due to financial constraints, but now, with Tujiamini’s backing, we're more motivated than ever to achieve our goals and aspire for top-tier leagues," Wanjala stated.
