Man United will be taking on Brentford in their sixth game of the campaign on Saturday after beating Chelsea last weekend.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has urged his players to maintain the urgency and focus that fueled their unexpected win over Chelsea last weekend, as they prepare to face Brentford in Saturday’s early Premier League kickoff.

The Red Devils head into Matchday 7 with several key absentees. Casemiro will serve a suspension following his red card against Chelsea, while Lisandro Martínez and Noussair Mazraoui remain sidelined through injury.

Amad Diallo is also unavailable after returning home due to a family bereavement. “We offer Amad our full support and understand he needed to return home,” Amorim said.

Despite the challenges, Amorim stressed that Manchester United’s recruitment strategy has been about stability rather than high-risk signings.

He pointed to January arrival Bryan Mbeumo as a crucial addition. “Everything he brings is very important. He’s always there to help us, he runs and presses a lot. He’s a different threat, he takes set pieces. I’m very happy with him,” the Portuguese coach noted.

United’s confidence was boosted by their gritty 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford, a response to the heavy derby defeat to Manchester City.

Amorim, however, cautioned against complacency. “I don’t want to say we’re playing well, because we’ve done that this year, but it’s normal for fans not to know what will happen in the next game.

“To be completely honest, I have an idea, but I don’t know how it will turn out — and I’m the manager,” he admitted.

For Amorim, the key is focus and intensity in every fixture. “The best way to deal with it is to treat every game as if it’s the last. It’s not about thinking two games ahead. The next game is the most important for Manchester United in a long time.

The most important thing is to start the game like we did against Chelsea and Burnley. In these types of games, we really need to be focused and have the feeling that we need to win every match.”
