Kariobangi Sharks midfielder has transferred to FK Apolonia in Albania joining two fellow countrymen at the rising European club.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks have officially announced the surprising transfer of their talented midfielder Kevin Wangaya to Albanian club FK Apolonia.

This move represents a unique opportunity for Wangaya who has shown exceptional skills and promise with the FKF Premier League outfit.

Wangaya, a former standout player for the Kenya U-15 team, joined Kariobangi Sharks in 2023 from the lower division outfit Ligi Dogo Sports Club.

His rapid ascent in the top-flight league has caught the eyes of international scouts, leading to this exciting overseas opportunity.

"Kevin Wangaya has joined FK Apolonia in Albania. Mungu akueke (God bless you), Kevula," announced the Kariobangi Sharks on their official platform, bidding a fond farewell to their star midfielder.

Pulse Sports can confirm that Wangaya has signed a one-year deal with FK Apolonia following an impressive one-and-a-half-year stint with the Sharks.

In his time with Kariobangi Sharks, Wangaya not only showcased his individual talents but also contributed significantly to the team's dynamics.

His agility and creativity in the midfield played a key role in many of the team's successful matches.

Wangaya was also a part of the Kenya national U18 team, the Junior Stars, which secured a runner-up position in the CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship. Although he was in the provisional squad, his inclusion highlighted his rising profile in Kenyan football.

At FK Apolonia, Wangaya will join fellow Kenyans Lewis Shivachi and Kevin 'Taiwo' Owino, who recently signed with the club.

Shivachi moved from FKF Premier League side Posta Rangers, while Taiwo joined from the National Super League team Kibera Black Stars.

FK Apolonia is currently placed fifth in the Albania First Division, having accumulated 27 points from 18 matches.

The addition of Wangaya is expected to bolster their midfield strength, as they aim to climb higher in the league standings.
