Prince Abdullah, Sheffield United's present Saudi owner, is close to selling the club after they have suddenly run into financial difficulties.
Dozy Mmobuosi, a billionaire in Nigerian technology, is according to reports, edging closer to a £90 million buyout of EFL Championship side Sheffield United.
The takeover will substantially ease the club's current financial crisis, which includes a failure to make payments owed to Liverpool.
However, Sheffield United's problems could soon become a thing of the past as Mmobuosi, whose technology company Tingo has been valued at around £7 billion, could become the clubs' new owner.
No takeover problems for Mmobuosi so far

According to a report by The Times, Mmobuosi will be the subject of the EFL's owners' and directors' test. In the meantime, no problems have been flagged so far, raising the possibility of the takeover happening.
Sheffield United's current financial crisis which includes a failure to make payments owed to Liverpool for forward Rhian Brewster, who was signed in October 2020 for £23.5m, has seen the club placed on a transfer embargo.

As it stands, unless they secure a promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season, they will be unable to buy a player for the next 18 months, so the takeover is considered essential.

So far, Brewster has failed to live up to expectations or his price tag, and Paul Heckingbottom’s are 12 points clear of third-placed Middlesbrough, with a game in hand.
There are also issues being reported to involve Anel Ahmedhodzic, a Bosnian defender who moved from Malmo for an undisclosed sum in July. The Times also stated that according to their sources, the arrangement of the payments to the Swedish club is something United is attempting to renegotiate.
