Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is learning a new language, which hints at his next possible managerial appointment.

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been linked with the Bayern Munich job after a recent report revealed he has taken up German.

The 62-year-old is recently out of work after his contract was terminated, following a run of underwhelming results.

The Portuguese manager does not consider a sabbatical, as he is reportedly keen to return to management. He has, however, turned down an approach from the Gulf, with his sights still set on European football.

Mourinho next Bayern boss?

Following the disappointing 3-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen that sank the Bavarians five points further behind the Xabi Alonso-led league leaders, Thomas Tuchel’s job came under the microscope once more.

Despite Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen publicly backing the former Dortmund manager after the defeat, speculations still surround Tuchel’s future at the club.

Mourinho has emerged as a likely replacement over the past 24 hours after a report from The Sun claimed the two-time Champions League winner was taking German lessons.

The report stemmed from the German publication Bild, stating that Mourinho was indeed keen on the job and has even flirted with the possibility in the past.

The German champions come up against Lazio in the UCL round of 16, and should they face difficulties in that tie, the Bayern leadership could seriously reconsider their stance on Tuchel.

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho would be seen as an ideal replacement, but FC Hollywood are not averse to ball calls.
