Of all the top six sides in the FKFPL, only Nzoia Sugar have managed to get all three points against Wazito at the Muhoroni Stadium.

Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano is confident ahead of his side’s visit to Wazito FC at the Muhoroni Stadium as the Brewers seek to maintain their lead at the top of the table over title rivals Gor Mahia.

The Muhoroni Stadium has not been a friendly place to visit, given only Nzoia Sugar have won all three points at the venue over a resilient Wazito who have been bravely fighting against relegation.

“Wazito is going to be a tough match but we are up to the task,” Matano said. “Again we go, it is not going to be easy but we have to (win) to maintain our lead,” he added.

“The league is on and on and on, and we are also on as Tusker until the end of the league.”

Captain Humphrey Mieno shared his manager’s sentiments, saying that playing Wazito this weekend will be a daunting task.

“We can only take it a game at a time because you cannot say you have won a match until you play,” he said. “Wazito are fighting their own battle to survive relegation and we are fighting for the title,” he said.

“All our three remaining matches are tricky but two of the three games are against sides with nothing to play for anymore. One of them (Vihiga Bullets) have already been relegated and Posta Rangers are comfortably in mid-table.

“ Wazito, however, is fighting to stay up. We have to be focused and try to get all three points.”

Tusker need to win all their remaining games to stand a chance of retaining their Premier League title and qualify for the CAF Champions League next season.
