Balotelli opted for a more unorthodox approach, with the two jovially battling it out on a hilarious mini-game to decide who would take the penalty

Controversial former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli and Adana Demirspor teammate M'Baye Niang have figured out a new method to decide the penalty taker.

The Turkish Super Lig match saw Balotelli's side awarded a penalty before both strikers resorted to a heated round of Rock Paper Scissors.

In Chelsea's recent Arsenal clash, Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling were seen debating who would take the penalty, with Enzo Fernandez intervening to decide.

Balotelli, 33, opted for a more unorthodox approach, with the two jovially battling it out with the Rock Paper Scissors making the final call.

In the end it was Niang who won the toss, though it all paid off when he slotted home to score Adana's third and final goal of the match.

Balotelli also fancied getting on the scoreboard, and netted a cool shot into an empty net after beating the keeper.

Adana Demirspor sit in third position in the Turkish Super Lig, behind Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

The Italian striker enjoyed an illustrious career in the Premier League and Serie A, as one of the most prolific goalscorers.

He made over 50 appearances for Manchester City and scored 20 goals, carrying three Serie A titles, a Premier League, and an FA Cup.

The Palermo-born striker dons the number 99 for his new Turkish side, after moving from Swiss club Sion earlier this year.
