Tusker FC's Levin Odhiambo credits team effort for comeback in title race after a decisive 3-1 win over Sofapaka.

Tusker FC left-back Levin Odhiambo has expressed a confident outlook for his team, declaring their strong contention in the title race of the FKF Premier League.

Following a decisive 3-1 victory over Sofapaka, which propelled Tusker to third in the league standings, Odhiambo's enthusiasm is at an all-time high.

The recent win is a significant turnaround for Tusker, who had to relinquish the title to Gor Mahia last season.

This victory not only marks a resurgence but also positions them as formidable contenders for their 12th title.

Odhiambo, who has recently transitioned to a winger role, played a pivotal part in this critical match.

"First of all, I want to thank my teammates. It has been an incredible match. We fought until the last minute, and it resulted in a fantastic victory at the end of the game. After being assigned the new role of a winger, I've been trying to adjust to it. Now, I feel like I'm gaining the right momentum," Odhiambo said, reflecting on the team's performance and his personal growth in the new position.

Tusker's triumph was a team effort with Fabian Adikinyi, Eric Kapaito, and David Odoyo scoring in the 59th, 60th, and 72nd minutes, respectively. Sofapaka's only response came from Keagan Ndembi, but it was not enough to deter Tusker's advance.

Odhiambo, known for his hard work and dedication, believes that the team is closing in on the top of the league.

"I'm working hard and giving my best out there. I believe we are getting closer to the top of the log. As we continue with the matches and give our best, I'm confident it's going to be a remarkable comeback for us," he added, emphasizing the team's potential for a strong finish this season.

The fans' support has not gone unnoticed by Odhiambo. He expressed his gratitude towards those who traveled to Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos to cheer them on.

"I want to thank the fans for coming all the way to Machakos. Their support has been tremendous, and I encourage them to come more often. I know there are many who might not have come yet, but if they keep coming and we continue delivering good results, I believe they will turn out in large numbers," he concluded.

Tusker, which moved up from fifth to third position with 31 points, started slowly in the first half but gained momentum in the second, scoring three crucial goals.

This win sets a promising tone for their next challenge against league leaders and defending champions Gor Mahia.
