Kenneth Muguna has fired a warning to CHAN rivals insisting that Harambee Stars don't fear opposition.

Harambee Stars midfielder Kenneth Muguna has said the African Nations Championships (CHAN 2024) will help bring out the best from local-based players.

The Police player maintained that the Stars aren't worried about the opposition despite being placed in the 'group of death' following the draw conducted on January 15. The biennial championship is set for August and will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Harambee Stars were pooled with Morocco, DR Congo, Angola and Zambia in Group A.

"The group is okay. I think these are the kind of matches that every player dreams to play. Whoever gets the opportunity, will go out to represent Kenya proudly and we know that we can do it. The group will bring out the best from the stars because we shall start the tournament on a high note and will give a clear indication of the type of competition to expect going forward," Muguna said.

The experienced midfielder has previously turned up for record Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia and Tanzanian giants Azam FC. Muguna expects the Stars to shine on home soil, and winning the tournament will be a better way to send a statement about the country's intent to dine with the best teams at the international stage.

"The tournament is vital for homegrown players to grab their chance. This is a life-changing opportunity for them to showcase their talent. We have to make a statement in CHAN that Kenya is back on the big stage," the former KF Tirana footballer observed.

"It doesn't matter the type of opposition, every match counts. To the fans, throng our stadia in large numbers. Let's rally behind the team," Muguna added.
