Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho has evoked memories of Jadon Sancho’s fall out with Erik ten Hag following his social media reaction to halftime substitution.

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has evoked the memories of Jadon Sancho after seemingly expressing dissatisfaction with manager Erik ten Hag's decision-making following his early substitution during the recent match against Bournemouth.

The 19-year-old was taken off at half-time during the 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium, with Manchester United trailing 2-1.

When questioned about Garnacho's withdrawal, Ten Hag denied it was due to injury, stating simply, "No."

Garnacho's discontent became apparent when he interacted with social media posts criticising Ten Hag's handling of the situation. United fan Mark Goldbridge posted messages condemning the decision to substitute Garnacho and suggesting that other players deserved to be taken off first.

One of Goldbridge's posts read: "Garnacho has been one of our best players this season. Poor first half but taking him off at half-time and holding him up as the problem is a joke. Many have done much worse week in week out and are still out there."

Following Ten Hag's remarks in the media, Goldbridge remarked, "Ten Hag subtly blaming Garnacho in the post-match press conference... Not a good look throwing a 19-year-old under the bus who has actually delivered for you this season. But then again, he's clearly scared of upsetting the bigger earners."

Garnacho further expressed his disappointment on his Instagram story, sharing a picture of himself looking down at the pitch with a shocked emoji.

Despite his frustration with Ten Hag's decision, Garnacho has been a regular starter under the manager, featuring in 42 matches across all competitions this season.

This isn't the first time a player has publicly clashed with Ten Hag. In September, Jadon Sancho voiced his frustration amid claims of underperformance in training.

Sancho's discontent ultimately led to his departure on loan to Borussia Dortmund in January. It remains to be seen how Ten Hag will respond to Garnacho's social media activity and whether it will affect the youngster's role within the team.
