NSL Gusii end Shabana's unbeaten record as Kisumu All Stars drop points

Five matches were played in the National Super League, with a total of 12 goals being scored.

Shabana FC suffered their maiden loss of the season following a 1-0 defeat against Gusii FC on Saturday in a National Super League (NSL) match staged at Gusii Stadium.

Cyrus Oucho netted the match's only goal in the 79th minute to help Gusii claim the Kisii Derby bragging rights.

Despite the loss, Shabana remains on top of the table with 25 points, while Gusii moved to third place with 21 points.

The biggest winners were Vihiga United, who thrashed SS Assad 5-1 in a match played at Mumias Sports Complex.

The home side scored through Oscar Wanambisi, Michael Odongo, Gordick Gaduka, Amos Kigadi, and Morgan Ambuka, while Beja Nyamawi scored the consolation goal for the visitors.

After 11 matches, the western region side is placed fifth with 15 points while Assad remained in 13th position with just five points.

Kibera Black Stars secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Migori Youth FC. The Evans Omondi-led side scored through John Njoroge and Richdonald Bolo to send the team to the second position with 23 points.

Elsewhere, Kajiado FC failed to roar at Wundanyi Stadium after falling 3-2 to hosts Mwatate United in a five-goal thriller.

Ali Swalleh opened the scoring for Kajiado in the 12th minute before Robinson Joshua found an equalizer in 34 minutes from a penalty.

Dominic Waithaka restored Kajiado's lead in the 53rd minute from the spot, but three minutes later Ali Ngoto found an equalizer for the home side.

Robinson Joshua added the final twist when he thumped in the third for Mwatate to break Kajiado's hearts.

Meanwhile, Kisumu All Stars dropped valuable points when they were held to a goalless draw by Naivas at Ligi Ndogo Grounds.
