Former Gor Mahia striker Jacques Tuyisenge has been overwhelmed with joy after fans of the club crafted a flag bearing his image and national flag.

Tuyisenge, who departed K'Ogalo in 2019, left an indelible mark on the club's history, largely due to his prolific scoring ability.

Taking to his social media platforms, the Rwandan striker expressed his gratitude to the fans for their gesture, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout his time at the club.

"I am honored by your recognition, these achievements wouldn’t be possible without the Gor Mahia family’s support," Tuyisenge shared in a heartfelt post.

Arriving at the club in 2016, Tuyisenge quickly proved himself as a dependable goal scorer, stepping into the shoes of previous striking talents like Michael Olunga and Meddie Kagere, who had left notable gaps in the team's attacking lineup.

Despite a rocky start marred by injuries, Tuyisenge soon found his rhythm, embarking on a goal-scoring spree that saw him finish as the fourth leading scorer in the 2017 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season.

One of Tuyisenge's standout qualities was his prowess in aerial duels, with his ability to precisely direct powerful headers often resulting in crucial goals for the team.

During his three-year stint with the club, Tuyisenge played a pivotal role in securing Gor Mahia's unprecedented 18th league title in his final season.

He also playied a pivotal role in that season's CAF Confederation Cup, where Gor Mahia reached the quarter-finals.

Despite their eventual exit in the quarter-finals to finalists RS Berkane of Morocco, Tuyisenge's contributions were instrumental in the team's journey.

Over the course of his time with Kenya’s most successful club, Tuyisenge amassed over 50 goals, consistently emerging as the team's top scorer season after season. Follow Pulse Sports WhatsApp channel for more news.
