Gor Mahia have denied receiving offers for star striker Benson Omala amid rumors of interest from Algerian club USM Alger.

Record Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions Gor Mahia has categorically stated that they have not received any official offers for their star striker Benson Omala.

The 22-year-old has been a key figure in the team's recent successes, leading their attack with remarkable skill and precision.

Despite the swirling rumors linking Omala to various clubs, Gor Mahia's head coach Johnathan McKinstry remains unwavering in his stance on the matter.

"Benson is a crucial member of our squad, and we haven't received any formal proposals for him," McKinstry explained.

His statement comes amidst widespread speculation about Omalla's potential move to Algerian side USM Alger, who are reportedly interested in acquiring the young striker's services.

Omala's performance this season has been nothing short of spectacular, having scored nine goals, three more than any other player in the league.

This impressive form has not only caught the eye of USM Alger but also other notable clubs.

However, McKinstry is quick to dispel these rumors, emphasizing the lack of any concrete offers.

"In essence, there is no truth to it. The club has not received any offer, and Benson does not have a release clause in his contract," he said.

The rumored interest from USM Alger included a substantial package, featuring a monthly salary of $20,000 (Ksh 3.1million) and a signing-on fee of $100,000 (Ksh 15.9million).

Additionally, they were purportedly ready to offer Gor Mahia $50,000 (Ksh 7.9million) to secure Omala's transfer. However, McKinstry insists that these are mere speculations.

"You can guarantee that in terms of transfer value, we value Benson much higher than what is reported," he added.

Omala's talent and potential are undeniable, as evidenced by his record-equaling 26 goals in the FKF Premier League last season, which played a pivotal role in Gor Mahia clinching their 20th title.

His prowess on the field has attracted the attention of other African football giants, including South African teams Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, and Tanzanian champions Yanga. Despite this, a move to any of these clubs has not materialized.

While USM Alger, winners of the CAF Confederation Cup last season, are experiencing a challenging time in the Algerian top flight, Omalla's contribution to Gor Mahia has been consistently strong.

Alger are currently positioned 13th in their league, a stark contrast to Omalla's flourishing career at Gor Mahia.

As the transfer window progresses, only time will tell if this star striker will make a move or continue to shine at Gor Mahia.
