Kaka has revealed how he dealt with divorce after his wife left him for being 'too perfect' during his stint in America.

Brazilian football icon Kaka has finally broken his silence on his 2015 divorce, responding to recent comments made by his ex-wife, Caroline Celico, who described him as "too perfect" for her.

The former AC Milan and Real Madrid star, now 41, married his childhood sweetheart Celico in 2005. Together, they built a family, having a son and daughter, before parting ways after a decade of marriage.

In a recent podcast reported by Spanish outlet Sport, Kaka revealed his efforts to salvage the relationship, driven by his strong religious beliefs. He emphasized, "A Christian does not marry to get a divorce."

"In 2015, while I was living in the United States, my wife decided she didn't want to be married anymore," Kaka shared. "She expressed her unhappiness with our marriage, saying she wanted to return to Brazil and no longer wanted to be married."

Despite his efforts to save the marriage, Kaka acknowledged the challenge of reconciling his Christian faith with the divorce. "I did everything I could to prevent the divorce from happening because that's where the Christian's conflict arises," he said.

Celico, who has since remarried, previously explained their decision to part ways, saying, "Kaka never betrayed me. He treated me well, gave me a wonderful family, but something was missing. The problem was, he was too perfect for me."

Struggling to reconcile the divorce with his Christian values, Kaka confided, "I stayed single for a year, trying to assimilate the situation and deal with it as a Christian, seeking guidance from pastors."

However, life took a turn for Kaka when he began dating Brazilian model Carolina Dias in 2017. The couple announced their engagement earlier this year and share a one-year-old daughter.

Reflecting on his illustrious career, Kaka enjoyed success with clubs like Sao Paulo, AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Orlando City before retiring in 2017.

His decorated career includes winning the Champions League at the club level and clinching the World Cup with Brazil, earning 92 caps for his country.

Kaka's candid revelations offer a glimpse into his personal life, shedding light on the challenges he faced off the pitch while maintaining his stature as one of football's greatest talents.
