Concerns have been raised about the MetLife Stadium which is hosting the Club World Cup Finals.

Palmeiras and FC Porto played to a scoreless draw last night in their second Group A match of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Both sides later complained about the condition of the pitch at MetLife Stadium, the venue slated to host the semifinals and final.

MetLife Stadium, the 82,500-capacity New Jersey venue, will host nine Club World Cup matches. The first took place last night between FC Porto and Palmeiras, ending in a 0-0 draw.

Players and coaches from both teams voiced their concerns about the playing surface after the match.

This is a significant issue, as MetLife Stadium will host both the semifinals and the final of the tournament, and next year, it's set to host key World Cup matches.

Criticism arises after the first match at the stadium set to host the Club World Cup final.

"I think the pitch needed to be watered a bit more. The ball was moving slowly, and that affects the pace of the game," said Palmeiras' Estevao, who is set to join Chelsea after the tournament.

His coach, Abel Ferreira, echoed the sentiment, stating, "At the beginning, the pitch was dry. I don't know who the patron saint of rain is, but after it rained, we were able to play our game."

FC Porto's Ze Pedro also complained that the pitch "could have been better." Manager Martin Anselmi added, "The pitch made us a bit imprecise, especially when we wanted to speed up the game."

MetLife Stadium is typically home to two NFL teams, the New York Giants and the New York Jets

For NFL games, MetLife Stadium uses artificial turf, but for the FIFA tournament, a natural warm-weather grass surface has been installed.

According to The Athletic, while the weather was warm midweek, temperatures dropped to around 15 degrees Celsius by the weekend, a possible explanation for the subpar pitch conditions.

The next match at MetLife Stadium is Fluminense vs Borussia Dortmund in Group F, on Tuesday.
