The RB Leipzing Forward is open to a move to Manchester United after Arsenal opted to go for Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon.

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is open to joining Manchester United, even though the club will not be competing in European football next season.

According to sources close to GIVEMESPORT, the 22-year-old Slovenia international is one of several forward options being seriously considered by new United manager Rúben Amorim as he plans a major overhaul of the attacking line ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Sesko has been on United’s radar for over three years, with club scouts closely tracking his progress at Leipzig.

According to a source, contact has been renewed this year, and the club is impressed by Sesko’s all-round game and physical attributes, which are considered well-suited to the demands of the Premier League.

Despite interest from multiple clubs, Sesko is understood to prefer a move to Old Trafford over other potential destinations.

Arsenal had previously been in discussions for the forward, but those negotiations were described as "really complicated." The Gunners have now shifted their attention to Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, with talks at an advanced stage.

Finances to Dictate Manchester United’s Decision

Manchester United’s interest in Šeško is described as “serious”, but the club’s financial position may delay any formal offer.

A source confirmed that all potential signings have been made aware that United must sell before they can buy. The club is actively working to raise funds through outgoings before committing to big-money deals.

Reports suggest Šeško would command a fee of around £78 million, and any move would hinge on United's ability to generate enough income through player sales in the coming weeks.

While Sesko remains a priority, he is not the only name under consideration. Amorim is targeting a dynamic striker capable of leading the line and pressing from the front — qualities that have also seen Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson enter the frame.

A source told GIVEMESPORT that Watkins would also be open to a move to Manchester United if an official approach is made.

With Arsenal stepping away from negotiations and United actively monitoring Šeško’s situation, the path may be clearing for the Red Devils to make their move.

Though no formal bid has been made yet, Šeško’s openness to a United switch — even without European football — signals a potential marquee summer signing if the financial conditions align.

As Amorim seeks to build a new-look forward line at Old Trafford, Šeško remains firmly in the spotlight.
