The duo promise to steer Tusker towards positive outcomes going forward in quest for the title.

Tusker head coach Robert Matano has expressed serious dissatisfaction despite the Brewer’s fightback from two goals down to force a draw against Ulinzi Stars.

Matano and his charges have put in too underwhelming performances in the course of the season leaving their title defense in limbo as thy trail leaders Gor Mahia and do not seem to be potent enough to mount a late charge for the top.

Against the Soldiers, Humphrey Mieno and a late effort from Charles Momanyi spared Tusker and Matano the blushes after Ulinzi Stars had raced into a two-goal first half lead.

This is the second straight time that the Football Kenya Federation Premier League reigning champions fought back to earn a point after avoiding going down to Talanta in a previous game.

"The comeback was OK but we lost several chances, there was lack of concentration and we were in a hurry and even in the last minute we could have scored," Matano told the club’s media.

"That was a good fight and we are going to reorganize. I am happy for the boys and the comeback of the champions. We have lost four points [from the last two games] but it will push us because it was a very tough match and also that we came from behind in both matches.

"They are tough games but we are also tough and I am happy for that. We are going to reorganize. We know where we are weak and we are going to rectify.

On his part, Momanyi – while echoing the coach’s sentiments – said his main objective now is to score winning goals. He also scored the equalizer against Talanta.

"We started the game poorly but we gained confidence as the game progressed. We fought back but bad luck we drew," the former Kakamega Homeboyz and Gor Mahia said.

"We will appreciate for the one point and build from there in the next game.

"We started by losing the ball and gave them easy goals which brought our morale down.

"It has been sometime since I scored, but I have found the back of the net in two consecutive games now and this is a confidence boost for me.

"I hope to give the team more confidence for goals and I do not want to be equalizing only because I want to score for wins."

Next for Tusker is a game against Bidco United after the FIFA international break.
