Barcelona's crisis continues as they announce an injury to another player.

Barcelona have announced another injury to a member of the squad, with Sergi Roberto said to have suffered a hamstring injury.

The 31-year-old captain was substituted in the 0-0 draw against Getafe on Sunday and was replaced by Eric Garcia.

Roberto's injury

The Blaugrana announced via their official channels that Roberto hurt his left hamstring. The announcement comes after the midfielder/right-back went off injured over the weekend, and upon further testing, the nature of his injury was determined.

The club failed to state an expected return date, saying his availability would be determined by the progress of his recovery.

Roberto's injury is another on a long list of injuries for Barcelona in the past few months, with Ousmane Dembele, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, and Andreas Christensen all suffering injuries of varying degrees at some points over the past few months.

The Barcelona academy graduate has been integral to Xavi Hernandez's team this season, shuffling between right-back and centre midfield depending on the needs of the club.

He has featured in 30 games for the league leaders this season, 17 of them as a right-back, eight at centre midfield, twice as a defensive midfielder, and according to TransferMarkt, he played once as a left-winger as well.

Barcelona’s recent form

As previously reported, LaLiga giants Barcelona have recorded a low point in their season after consecutive goalless draws against Girona and Getafe

The Blaugrana failed to break down their opponents on both occasions, struggling once again to get past resolute defences, and failing to create ample scoring opportunities during these games.

The Catalan club have failed to score in their last three matches, including the draws against Getafe and Girona and the 4-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey.

This represents the longest run of goalless fixtures for Barcelona since 2008, when they were managed by Dutch coach Frank Rijkaard, plunging the LaLiga leaders to a 15-year low in all competitions.
