AFC Leopards have their work cut out if they want to move to the top of the FKF Premier League table as they visit Mara Sugar in Saturday’s early kick off.

AFC Leopards have been on a roll in their last three matches and head to Mara Sugar in with a chance of moving top of the FKF Premier League table on Saturday.

Ingwe, who started the season with three straight draws, increasing pressure on coach Fred Ambani, have since turned it around with a hat-trick of wins that have brough back belief and taken the spotlight off the coach.

Match Preview

The worry that had greeted a return of three points from a possible nine has been replace by optimism after a perfect record with Ingwe beating KCB and Shabana 2-1, on both occasions, followed by a 2-0 victory over Mathare United last week, which moved them to third place on the standings with 12 points.

Leopards are now just two behind leaders Kakamega Homeboy from six games and what is more, they have a match in hand over the leaders.

Should they win at Mara Sugar on Saturday, they will move to top spot given Homeboyz and second placed Gor Mahia, who have 13 points, are not in action until Sunday.

Leopards face a Mara Sugar team that is winless in their last three matches, having drawn all their matches over that period, but it is also a warning of what to expect as the team have been frustrating opponents and making it hard for teams to collect all three points.

Head-to-Head Record

Leopards have a superior record over Mara Sugar as in their only two meetings, they won one and draw another.

The two teams played out a 1-1 draw last November but Ingwe won 2-1 in February 2025, giving Ambani and his charges confidence of another three points in Awendo.

Time and Where to Watch

The match will kick off at 1pm Kenyan time at Awendo Green Stadium and will be live on Azam TV (Azamsports3HD).
