The Jamaican has had a poor season this year, something that has sparked mixed reactions prompting him to share a post on his X handle.

Yohan Blake has had a disappointing 2023 season that also saw him missing out on the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Over the 100m, he has only won three races and lost the rest, something that has caused mixed reactions from his fans. Due to that, the Jamaican has posted on his X (Twitter) handle to narrate his tough journey to stardom and what it has taken him to maintain stamina.

He said: “If people knew how hard I worked to get my mastery, it wouldn't seem so wonderful after all. So, do the best you can until you know better.

"Then when you know better, do better. Because success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, and sacrifice.”

Blake opened his season with the 60m at the Camperdown Classics where he finished second. He went ahead and finished fourth at the Gibson McCook Relays.

Over the 100m, he started off at the Diamond League Meeting in Rabat, Morocco where he finished a disappointing sixth then proceeded to the Diamond League Meeting in Florence, Italy where he settled for seventh.

Blake then finished second at the FBK Games in Hengelo before placing fourth at the Diamond League Meeting in Paris, France.

During the Jamaican Championships, he was eliminated in the Heats after a sixth-place finish before proceeding to the Meeting in Silesia. He then won the Gyulai István Memorial, a Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix before finishing fourth at the Meeting in Monaco.

The 33-year-old won the True Athletes Classics 2023 before finishing sixth at the Diamond League Meeting in Xiamen and the Prefontaine Classic.

He did not run much in the 200m. He opened his season with a win at the MVP Velocity Fest 12 before finishing fourth at the Jamaican Championships.
