The duo will face an acid test since the race has also attracted World 5000m champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen who has been in epic form since the season began.

World Under-20 1500m champion Reynold Cheruiyot and Abel Kipsang will kickstart their World Championships title reclamation as they head to the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia, Poland.

Reynold and Kipsang made it to the national team for the global showpiece in Budapest, Hungary alongside 2019 world champion Timothy Cheruiyot. The 1500m men’s field is as deep as what the trio should anticipate at the World Championships.

The duo will be up against some of the big names and each will be using the event to gauge their body’s response. For Reynold, his season has been great since he started his track campaign with a win at the Africa U18/20 Athletics Championships in Ndola, Zambia.

He then proceeded to the Kip Keino Classic in May where he floored the oldies to take the title and later on finished second at the USTAF LA Grand Prix behind Cheruiyot.

Cheruiyot then went for the Meeting Stanislas Nancy where he won the race and later finished third at the National Trials. This will be his first Diamond League Meeting.

On his part, Kipsang has had a mixed season that saw him win the 800m at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix but unfortunately failed to defend his title at the Kip Keino Classic where he was narrowly defeated by Reynold.

He has been to two Diamond League Meetings where he finished fifth in Rabat, Morocco, and 11th in Oslo, Norway. At the just-concluded National Trials, Kipsang finished second.

The duo will face an acid test since the race has also attracted World 5000m Champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen who has been in epic form since the season began. Ingebrigtsen poses to be the duo’s greatest challenger.

Another one in the mix is Frenchman Azeddine Habz who has also had a great start both in his outdoor and indoor tours. Habz, just like Kipsang, has been to two Diamond League Meetings where he finished fourth in Rabat, Morocco, and sixth in Oslo, Norway.
