Despite her unmatched success, she admits there's one thing that eluded her: the experience of performing in front of a hometown crowd in the United States.
"What I would have loved most is to have a home Games," said Felix, a Los Angeles native and now a member of the LA28 Olympic board in an interview with Reuters.
"We've worked really hard to bring the Games back to L.A. and more than anything, I'm excited the athletes have this opportunity to be on full display in America. That's huge."
