Double world record holder Faith Kipyegon has opened up about the two women who inspire her.

Two-time Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon has revealed the two women who inspire her to break barriers and go all out for everything in her career.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with World Athletics, Kipyegon singled out multiple World champion Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce and Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong'o.

On the track, Kipyegon noted that she likes to watch the Jamaican sprinter when she runs the 100m race.

“I like to watch Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce when she runs the 100m. She really motivates me where she has come from and where she is now. She is still going strong,” the double World champion (1500m and 5000m) said.

Fraser-Pryce is regarded as one of the greatest sprinters of all time, having won 10 medals at the World Championships.

She also won three Olympic medals and this year’s Olympic Games in Paris, France will be her last. The 37-year-old has also accomplished a lot off the track with her foundation, the Pocket Rocket Foundation.

Kipyegon added that her favourite movie star is Nyong’o who has acted in numerous movies including 12 Years a Slave, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and Queen of Katwe among other movies.

“My favourite fictional character is Lupita Nyong’o from Kenya…she is in the USA. She acts in a lot of movies and I really like her,” Kipyegon said.

On her part, Nyong’o has won top accolades including an Academy Award, and a Daytime Emmy Award with nominations for a Tony Award and a Golden Globe Award.
