This is an analysis of Pulse Sports on the podium finishers in track events at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games track and field events coming up between Thursday, August 1, and Sunday, August 11, Pulse Sports has analysed the podium predictions of the track events.

The track predictions come following the performance of athletes in 2023 and earlier this season since the outdoor season just began recently. Team Kenya will be hoping to shine one more time, winning medals in the global bonanza and athletes will also be hoping to make a name for themselves.

However, they will face tough opposition from athletes globally since everyone is sharpening their talons to ensure they impress.

1) 100m

Men

The men’s 100m is certainly becoming very competitive with many athletes coming up and ready to showcase their skills. We have the likes of Jamaicans and Americans going head to head for the event but Africa has also joined the chat with Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala and Ferdinand Omanyala firing warning shots.

The 100m will certainly prove to be one of the most thrilling events but from the analysis of Pulse Sports, triple World Champion Noah Lyles will certainly be the one to take the crown home. The second and third place finishers will be filled by Omanyala and Tebogo.

After sadly missing out on the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Sha’Carri Richardson will be back to continue from where she left from. Richardson was in great form last season and she will be hoping to build on that in the Olympic season.

Richardson is yet to open her season but she will certainly start her season with a bang. Meanwhile, defending champion Elaine Thompson-Herah has made it clear that she wants to defend her title and become the first woman to win three Olympic titles in the sprints.

The Jamaican duo of Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce will also be hoping to finish in the podium bracket with Fraser-Pryce looking to end her career on a high. Julien Alfred, fifth in Budapest, has also expressed interest in winning a medal in Paris and she has been off to a good start.

Pulse Sports predicts that Richardson will win the race while Thompson-Herah will finish second with either Fraser-Pryce or Jackson finishing third.

2) 200m

Pulse Sports predicts that Lyles will also claim the 200m at the Paris 2024 Olympics with Tebogo finishing an impressive second in the race.

Great Britain’s fastest man Zharnel Hughes has also proven to be one of the greatest 200m runners and he might certainly complete the podium.

Two-time World champion Shericka Jackson will certainly take the 200m title since she has crafted that art and is currently the fastest woman alive, over the distance. Thompson-Herah will also be hoping to defend her title and she might finish third in the race.

Gabby Thomas will finish third in the race, since she has also crafted the art of running the 200m since she finished second at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

3) 400m

Olympic champion Steven Gardiner remains favourite and he is already carving his title defense curve after opening his 2024 with a win at the Hurricane Invitational. Antonio Watson impressed in Budapest with Gardiner missing out on the event and he might finish second at the event.

Commonwealth Games champion Muzala Samukonga opened his season with qualifying for the Olympic Games and he will certainly be looking to impress on the stage. With his great form Samukonga will complete the podium.

The 400m will see Shaunae Miller-Uibo chase her third Olympic gold and she is in the great form for that.

World champion Marileidy Paulino will surely medal while former world champion and drugs cheat Salwa Eid Naser will also likely be a factor.

4) 800m

World 800m silver medallist Emmanuel Wanyonyi has plans to dethrone the champions and make a name for himself at the stage. He started the season in great form and he has plans to write his name in the books of history.

Marco Arop, the reigning World champion also intends to win his first Olympic title and continue shaping the 800m. However, after Wanyonyi’s dominant display at the Diamond League Meeting final, he is the one to take the top honours with Arop finishing second.

Defending champion Emmanuel Korir has been very silent after his unceremonious exit from the World Championships due to an injury but he will be back and he might finish third.

World champion Mary Moraa has been in great form at the start of this season and how things turned out in her favour last season, the same might happen this season. Moraa has also bagged her gold medal in the 400m at the African Games and she is not stopping at that.

The Paris 2024 Olympics might be a repeat of the World Championships with defending champion Athing Mu and World 800m bronze medallist Keely Hodgkinson.

5) 1500m

Jakob Ingebrigtsen may have lost the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary but he will certainly bounce back this season and might revenge on Josh Kerr who is also in great form.

Pulse Sports’ prediction is that Ingebrigtsen will win the race while Kerr will finish second. USA’s Yared Nuguse is a sure bet of finishing third.

There is no doubt that double world record Faith Kipyegon will bag her third Olympic title following her 2023 exploits, breaking the 1500m, 5000m and mile world records. Ethiopians will certainly take the second and third places.

Olympic silver medallist Laura Muir will also be hoping to finish in the podium bracket and she will be going for the top prize.

6) 5000m

Ingebrigtsen will definitely be the one to take the title since he has mastered the craft of winning the race. Ethiopians have also proven to be great over the distance but the Norwegian will not play this time around.

Jacob Krop might fight for a second place at the event with Yomif Kejelcha finishing third in what will prove to be a tight race.

Kipyegon’s world record at the distance did not last long but she will still line up as world champion, should she go for the double again.

Gudaf Tsegay, Sifan Hassan, Beatrice Chebet and Letesenbet Gidey are her most likely challengers. However, Kipyegon will still take the crown with Chebet finishing second and Tsegay finishing third.

7) 10,000m

He will lead his compatriot Jacob Kiplimo who missed out on the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary due to an injury. Daniel Simiu will also not be left behind and he will most likely finish in third place.

Gudaf Tsegay will certainly take the crown in the race and she will lead her compatriot Letesenbet Gidey to second place in the event. If Sifan Hassan competes on the track, she will certainly finish in the podium bracket.

8) Marathon

Two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge will be chasing history at the event and owing to his form at the Tokyo Marathon, his dreams might be cut short.

However, so many athletes have come up and if selected Benson Kipruto might be the right bet to win Kenya a gold medal. Sisay Lemma might also finish in the podium bracket with Kipchoge being forced to settle for third place.

Tigst Assefa, the current world record holder will certainly be a force to reckon with but defending champion Peres Jepchirchir will be in the mix.

World record holder Beatrice Chepkoech has regained her form and she hopes to win her first Olympic medal.

However, she will have to be up against world champion Winfred Yavi who dominated the event in 2023. Faith Cherotich will certainly finish third in the race.

10) 110m hurdles

Triple world champion Grant Holloway, who also impressed in Glasgow, will take the crown in the race with Olympic champion Hansle Parchment who set a 2023 world lead with 12.93 finish second. Jamaica’s Rasheed Broadbell will finish third in the race.

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan will be back this time around hoping to win the race with Deveyne Charlton and France’s Cyrena Samba-Mayela finishing second and third in the race.

11) 400m hurdles

Olympic and three-time world champion Karsten Warholm lost his last two races of 2023 but is the man to beat in what could be one of the best quality events in Paris and he showed good form in Glasgow on the flat in his 2024 race debut.

Rai Benjamin and Alison Dos Santos will probably finish second and third in what will also promise to be a thrilling show.

World record-holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone might return to the track this year following her injury and she will be up against world champion Femke Bol who was in superb form in 2023 and indoor 400m form. Jamaica’s Rushell Clayton might finish third in the race behind Bol and McLaughlin-Levrone respectively.
