Sha’Carri Richardson stuns at the Met Gala with a bold fashion statement, marking a dramatic and unexpected return to the spotlight.

Sha’Carri Richardson made a stunning entrance at the 2025 Met Gala, gliding up the red carpet in a dreamy Valentino gown that turned heads and solidified her status as both a sports and fashion icon.

The 25-year-old sprinter proved she could command a red carpet just as powerfully as she dominates the 100-meter dash.

The Olympic star was among a high-profile lineup of athletes attending this year’s prestigious fashion event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, including basketball phenom Angel Reese and gymnastics legend Simone Biles.

But Richardson’s look—equal parts ethereal and edgy—stood out as one of the evening’s most striking.

“I feel like self-care is very important, especially as a woman, especially for Black women,” Richardson told Harper’s Bazaar in a previous interview.

Dressed in a strapless butter-yellow chiffon gown from Valentino’s Alessandro Michele, Richardson floated up the carpet with elegance and flair.

The dress featured knotted bands at the bodice and a voluminous bow at the back that extended into a dramatic train. Beneath it, a lavender lace bodice peeked through, its floral pattern adding a delicate contrast to the bold silhouette.

Accessories were anything but understated. Richardson adorned herself with silver bedazzled heart earrings, a faux-pearl bracelet with a dangling heart charm, and chunky statement rings—all by Alex Moss.

Her beauty choices added another layer of artistry. Her long, mermaid-like hair was styled with tiny yellow and white bows scattered throughout, complementing the softness of her gown. On her face, she wore smoky lavender eyeshadow, pink blush dusted with glitter, and shimmery lip gloss that caught the light with every smile.

Still, it was her nails that stole the spotlight. “My nails, for sure,” she once said when asked about her top beauty priority as per Harpers Bazaar.

On Monday night, she proved just why—her pointy, candy-colored nails were adorned with miniature floral designs that looked like sugary candy rosettes, a playful and personal finishing touch to the overall look.

This is not Richardson’s first Met Gala. She made her debut in 2021 during the “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” theme, wearing a motorcore-inspired outfit with a red leather bodice and a fringe-heavy black leather skirt. But after years of focusing on her athletic career—and collecting accolades—Richardson’s return to fashion’s biggest night was both triumphant and celebratory.

In 2023, she set the world championship record in the 100-meter dash. Just a year later, she claimed a silver medal at the Paris Olympics, proving she’s still one of the fastest women alive. With her first beauty partnership launched in 2024 with Olay, Richardson is expanding her reach beyond the track.

Of her love for makeup, she once shared, “I definitely like to intensify my eyes to make my eyes pop and [I like to have] a nice [lip] gloss.”

That combination, along with her signature nail art, she said, “intensifies the confidence that I already have.”

And on the Met Gala red carpet, that confidence radiated with every step. Would you like a photo of her look from the event?
