Salim Babu Reveals Technique Used To Review Mistakes In Morocco Tie As Rising Stars Eye Redemption Against Tunisia
Rising Stars coach Salim Babu explains how a review of Mistakes against Morocco will make his charges cautious in their U-20 AFCON clash against Tunisia.
Rising Stars head coach Anthony Akhulia, who deputizes head coach Salim Babu, explained what ultimately led to Rising Stars’ downfall.
“We played well. It’s unfortunate that we lost the match. We created numerous scoring chances that we didn’t really take,” said Akhulia in a post match press conference.
“We didn’t defend well. We gave in. Looking at the way we conceded two goals, the defense was caught napping, and we really didn’t react quickly to situations. I can call them cheap goals,” he added, breaking down what became Rising Stars’ undoing.
Morocco coach Mohammed Ouahbi himself admitted he was impressed by Kenya’s performance during the clash
“I said it to you yesterday, before the game, Kenya are a very good team. They have a lot of good players, a lot of personality, they will try to play, they will try to find the free man in midfield, they will create chances, and that is what they proved against us,” Ouahbi told Pan-Africa Football after game.
“What I thought about Kenya is what I saw in the game, but I think we deserved the victory. We had a lot of chances in the game. I hope Kenya win the next game, they deserve to go far in this competition. They were good, and they can be a huge threat to any opponent.”

Key Players
Amos Wanjala- The team captain, Wanjala is a leader both on and off the pitch. His organisational skills and ball-playing ability will be crucial in making sure the side concedes less. He will be however hoping not to repeat his mistake against Morocco, where he went down too easily expecting protection from the officials
Kevin Wangaya - An intelligent, young midfielder who is good at scanning the pitch off the ball, dropping deeper to create overloads and then carrying the ball forward, while passing to set the tempo and also giving those line-breaking passes.
Aldrine Kibet - A magician in midfield, with his ball carrying ability and ambidextrous nature a huge asset. He also has that eye for goal and that knack for the unpredictable.

Predicted XI

During the game, the Kenyan technical bench opted to start Kariobangi Sharks’ Bernard Jairo in goal. It is expected he will retain his place in the side after a brilliant opening performance that saw him save a penalty. However, his communication with both center backs will have to be sharper and more effective, considering the side let in two unnecessary goals against Morocco.
At the back, vice captain Baron Ochieng will be expected to start at right back, having endured a torrid last twenty minutes of the match against Morocco after Collins Ochieng was substituted.
Ochieng’s ambidextrous nature as well as willingness to influence the game in the final third a thing of value.
Captain Amos Wanjala will be expected to marshal the defence alongside KCB’s Manzur Suleiman Okwaro, with Collins Ochieng starting at left back.
