The two-time world 100m silver medallist noted that she was targeting a new personal best time in the women’s 100m but missed it.

Shericka Jackson’s personal best time in the 100m is 10.65 seconds, a time she clocked at the 2023 Jamaican Championships to secure a direct ticket to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Shericka Jackson would then win a silver medal at the global showpiece, and as she makes her return to the global showpiece, she wants to go one place better.

“It was a bit off my personal best, but I’m feeling good. I know I’ll be much better in Tokyo, that’s the goal,” Shericka Jackson said after the race.

Last year, Shericka Jackson was forced to miss the better part of the season after picking up an injury as she competed in the women’s 200m at the Gyulai István Memorial, a Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix. She finished the race in eighth place, crossing the finish line in 36.29 seconds.

Shericka Jackson had started her 2024 season at the JAAA All Comers Series #1 before competing at the Diamond League Meetings in Rabat, Oslo and Stockholm.

She then proceeded to claim top honours in the women’s 100m and 200m at the Jamaican Championships but had to withdraw from the Paris Olympic Games after the setback.

In 2025, Shericka Jackson has shown signs of improvement, starting her season with a series of 60m races before kickstarting her outdoor campaign with the 300m at the Miramar Invitational.

She kickstarted her Diamond League Meeting campaign in Xiamen and then headed to the World Athletics Relays. Shericka Jackson then proceeded to compete at the Diamond League Meeting in Rabat and then the Racers Grand Prix.

At the Jamaican Championships, she finished second in the women’s 100m and then also competed in the relay at the Diamond League Meeting in London before heading to Budapest.
